Q. Who makes Laresse?
A. Laresse was created by FzioMed, a pioneer in biomaterials. Since 1996, FzioMed has specialized in developing and manufacturing high-quality absorbable polymers for medical use and has achieved certification to ISO9001, EN46001, and ISO13485 international standards. FzioMed products are distributed to 44 countries and 6 continents. Learn more about FzioMed.

Q. What is Laresse?
A. Laresse is an ultra-smooth, clear, colorless, non-permanent but long-lasting dermal filler gel. Unlike fillers composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) or collagen, Laresse is made from pure absorbable medical polymers. It is composed of carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) and polyethylene oxide (PEO)--well-known components that are commonly used in pharmaceutical, medical device and nutritional products. It provides a high level of stability without the use of chemical cross-linking. Laresse is free of animal, bacterial, or chemical by-products, offering an unparalleled level of purity.
Laresse is currently available to medical practitioners in the European Union.

Q. Is Laresse chemically cross-linked?
A. Laresse is not chemically cross-linked. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers must be stabilized through chemical cross-linking, but Laresse demonstrates excellent stability without the need for cross-linking chemicals. In fact, the duration of effect is comparable to leading cross-linked hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, without introducing potentially dangerous chemical by-products.

Q. What makes Laresse different?
A. Laresse offers an unparalleled level of purity.
Non-animal. Non-bacterial.
Hyaluronic acid- (HA) and collagen-based fillers are created through a process of bacterial fermentation or are derived from animal sources. Residual animal proteins or bacterial endotoxins may lead to local tissue reactions, and therefore may jeopardize results.
Laresse is made from pure, absorbable medical polymers. It is free of animal and bacterial proteins, reducing immunogenic potential. Additionally, Laresse is manufactured and sterilized in FzioMed facilities under stringently controlled conditions according to GMP specifications.

Not chemically cross-linked
Laresse demonstrates excellent stability without chemical cross-linking and lasting results without the use of potentially toxic or carcinogenic contaminants.

Q. Is Laresse easy to inject?
A. Because Laresse is ultra-smooth, there are no gel fragments to induce clumping or impede injection control. It's an easy-flowing gel that is easily dispensed with lower compression force than hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, through a 30-gauge needle. Hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers are composed of gel particles that can lead to clumping and require greater force to inject.

Q. How long will patients need to wait before they see true results?
A. Laresse provides immediate benefits. The smooth gel results in a natural look and feel. By filling to desired contour the gel represents the final improvement directly post-procedure. No special technique is required. Additionally, the smooth-flowing gel improves injection control, which may result in less post-injection bruising and swelling.

Q. How long will Laresse treatments last?
A. Duration of improvement with Laresse is comparable to the leading hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers at 1, 3, and 6 months.

Q. How is Laresse cleared from the body?
A. Laresse is a non-permanent, biocompatible gel. The clearance time of biomaterials in the body depends on the location of placement and the physiological environment. Over time, the body naturally clears Laresse. The biocompatible gel is absorbed slowly over several months from the dermis via normal processes.

Q. Is skin testing required prior to treatment?
A. Laresse does not require skin testing.
Q. Is any special technique required?
A. No special training or technique is required for the Laresse procedure. You can use your preferred injection technique (eg, linear threading or serial puncture) to shape desired contours.
